As we’re closing in on the end of 2022, it’s hard not to reflect on what a busy end of the year it’s been for our team, our portfolio, and our community. In our last newsletter, we celebrated the recent closing of our second fund dedicated to built environment innovation, and we were grateful to share the excitement about backing more founders throughout the building lifecycle with so many of you. Since then, we saw many of you in Boston at the BVIN Fall Summit for a day of sessions exploring the drivers of change in our built environment—and a night at Fenway Park’s Bleacher Bar.
More recently, we announced two investments: Elephant Energy’s platform simplifies residential electrification for homeowners using smart building intelligence and connecting users with pre-vetted contractors, and Mezo is fixing home maintenance for residents, owners, and property managers by using AI and smart automated intake to enable one-trip solutions. And we’ve welcomed Mayra Soto to Building Ventures as an associate focused on construction technology. We couldn’t be happier to have her on the team.
Even though we’ve been busy closing out 2022, we’ve still been looking ahead to next year. Our team is already planning both our spring and fall events, and we’ll share more information early in the new year. We’re looking forward to seeing you in 2023, and in the meantime, we’re wishing you all the happiest of holiday seasons!
