“May you live in interesting times.”
Fresh off the heels of ENR Future Tech, SF Tech Week, and Realcomm, the BV team has been on the road quite a bit lately hearing from designers, builders, operators, and occupiers of space about the many challenges they all face. To paraphrase our friend and Innovators Network member Ravi Chadha from his incredible presentation at our Spring BVIN Summit: “When one hears challenges, they should think opportunities.”
At BV we spend the vast majority of our time looking for opportunities. To that end, we have also been engaged with the founders and startups who are rapidly delivering solutions to these “challenges,” and we can say it will certainly mean exciting and interesting times ahead.
We are all bearing witness to the many market gyrations, as well as the macro uncertainties around interest rates, workplace occupancy, capital availability, and labor constraints just to name a few. Despite these headwinds, we are seeing our portfolio companies make tremendous progress which we are excited to share in the stories below. This is further evidenced by the many terrific career opportunities across the portfolio (84 positions available right now).
While we hope you all find some restorative time with friends and family in the “slower” summer months ahead, rest assured that the built environment startup community is working tirelessly to meet the urgent demands of those of us looking to deliver a better built world. As you will see the past few months have seen us make several investments in incredible companies with the new addition of Parpsec and exciting follow-ons in Measurabl and Aeroseal. With several more exciting investments to announce in the coming months, we know that our summer will be “interesting times” indeed.
Lastly, the recordings from all the incredible sessions at the BVIN Spring Summit are now available on the BVIN Microsite. If you are interested in applying for BVIN membership in order to access these and all other BVIN content, please contact Allen Preger.
