Welcome to the BEIF Inaugural Update!

We are excited to update you on the progress of our new Built Environment Innovation Fund. In this update, we want you to be the first to hear about our investments and invite you to be part of the BEIF community. As we move ahead with the Fund, we will be sending out periodic updates on our progress and investments.

BEIF Investments – Designing, Building and Improving our World

Our four initial investments are the building blocks in creating a diversified portfolio that will integrate building data and processes to improve our world. We are thrilled to introduce you to these investments: Smartvid.io, MeasurablBlokable and Dandelion. You can find detailed information about each company below.

Help Seed the Future – Connect with us

These companies are in rapid growth mode, so please direct any great talent in your network to their career pages or send them our way. We’d also like to connect with outstanding entrepreneurs, companies or individuals you know that are focused on transforming the industry. And if you’d like to learn more about the state of Built Environment Innovation, check out The BUILTR Daily for the latest.

We are looking forward to this next chapter in our evolution and appreciate all the support and guidance you have provided and will provide in the future. As always, please let us know how we can be of help to you.

Books We Are Reading

Climate of Hope book cover

Michael Bloomberg
Carl Pope

Notable Quote:

“Improving the efficiency of buildings in not as sexy as saving a rainforest. You don’t see many celebrities dedicating their philanthropy to it. But the fact is, making the biggest possible dent in greenhouse gas emissions – and in the pollution that causes death and disease – requires focusing on buildings. And it is something that people can do in their own hometowns.”

The City of Tomorrow book cover

Carlo Ratti
Matthew Claudel

Notable Quote:

“Yet our civilization today has transitioned from mechanization to computation. The digital revolution—the convergence of bits and atoms—is poised to be the most radically disruptive change that has ever recast the design, construction, and operation of our built environment”
