At the end of 2025, our moment of calm and contemplation might be brief, but the opportunity rest feels essential. The imperative to deliver data centers and energy infrastructure at speed is reshaping expectations across the construction ecosystem. New processes, higher intensity, and compressed timelines are no longer the exceptions; they are quickly becoming the baseline. And as we transition into the new year, the building industry will continue to grapple with how projects are planned, financed, and executed to meet unprecedented demand. All while the urgency continues to accelerate.
We can’t help but consider the clear historical parallels. As Mortenson President & CEO Derek Cunz noted during our Fund II session in November, moments like the space race of the 1960s or the broadband buildout of the dot-com era required massive upfront investments in infrastructure—and in their wake unlocked waves of innovation far beyond their original scope. The same dynamic is unfolding today. Hyperscale data centers and energy systems will not only support AI and digital growth; they will catalyze new ways to build faster, better, and more efficiently across the entire built environment. For builders, founders, and investors alike, this is a defining moment, and we all need to be ready.
So join us slowing down over the next few weeks to recharge for the work we all need to do and reflect on the year we’ve had. Take a look at the highlights from our portfolio below, including Copper’s spotlight on CNBC, leadership from Measurabl and Faura earning recognition as proptech leaders of the year, and many of our companies looking to make key hires to ensure a strong start to the new year.
We’ll see you in 2026!
